90 (plus) years and counting...

Hello again!
I have a birthday card to share with you today along with a little story that I hope will make you laugh.  This was a card that my boss at work asked me to make for one of her friends. She asked me about doing it on a Friday and I dutifully took notes on what she was looking for including the age of the recipient (95), the party decorations (hydrangeas), her ethnic background (Irish) and whether she liked flowers or not. The latter was more of a rhetorical question but I had to ask. It all sounds like it should all work together for a very nice card right? Apparently I thought so too because I told her it would be no problem to incorporate all of that into the design. This is where things sort of fell apart. I left ALL of the information on my desk at work and toodled on home for the weekend completely oblivious to the fact that I didn't have it with me. Skip ahead to Saturday morning. Early. Like, barely 12 hours after I wrote all this down. I'm in my stamp room happily working away on various other cards and it hits me that I promised to do this card. Do you suppose I could remember ANYTHING? Really. Anything? I remembered it was for a lady. That's it. I knew it was a milestone birthday so I convinced myself it must be 90 and forged ahead with my favorite designer paper for lovely ladies, a stamp set that coordinated, a border punch and some bling. The fleurette was a nice touch too don't you think? Makes you think of little Grannies and crocheted doilies right? Okay, my arm is starting to hurt at this point from patting myself on the back. I stamped and punched and glittered and embellished away. Enlisted the Cricut to do the numbers, glammed them up a bit with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and trimmed it all out with a fair bit of bling. Tada!  Pretty card right?
Yeah. Do you see any Hydrangeas there? Anything remotely Irish? Oh, and let's not forget the birthday girl is turning 95 not 90. Guess when I discovered all of this? Yup. You guessed it. Monday morning when I got back into work after (alas) forgetting the darned card at home on my foyer side table. Sigh... Guess what I did on Monday night? I fixed it of course. Plucked the "0" off, transformed it into a "5" and delivered it on Tuesday morning. but... I forgot to take a picture...

The good news? My boss liked the card. Praise the Lord!
If you'd like to attempt this yourself, well, don't say I didn't warn you!
