Monday Medley #18 - Wetlands

Good morning and welcome to another new Monday Medley!

This week I am featuring the set Wetlands.
I really like this set for the simple fact that for guy cards it is ideal, but at the same time it doesn't completely limit you to guy cards.

My first sample is, predictably, a masculine birthday card using that lovely goose. I stamped him with Ranger Walnut Stain ink and then diddled a bit with a water pen to color him in. I sponged a bit of Old Olive along the bottom to fill in the grassy area and then layered the piece on So Saffron. My background is Old Olive stamped on Old Olive and then layered on a Sahara Sand card. A bit of twine and a stamped and punched sentiment finished it off.

My second card could be used for a sympathy card as well as the Thinking of You shown here. I chose high-contrast colors and made use of the new Artisan Label punch to frame the stamped shore birds.
This is a very simple layout that is easily adapted to a variety of stamped images.

Finally, I stepped away from the card arena to decorate up a little gable box.
I used some Autumn Vine DSP to cover most of the box and then created a little layered tag using the shore birds, a piece of Tangerine Tango and another of Groovy Guava. The latter was punched with the Artisan Label punch, cut in half and adhered to either end of the stamped white piece. A couple of eyelets on the ends gave me a finished hole to thread my baker's twine through which I wrapped around the box a few times before tying off to one side.

Thanks for dropping by today!
