Monday Medley #17 - Autumn Harvest

Good morning and Happy Fall! Next week month (oops) we'll be turning the clocks back already. Is anyone else not looking forward to what that ultimately means?!?  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE that extra hour of sleep but all that dark early stuff that follows isn't the greatest.  *Smiles*

Today I'm going to share with you a few things that I put together with Thanksgiving in mind. The set I am featuring this week is called Autumn Harvest and it's one that I haven't pulled out in a while so it was fun to see what I could do with it.

I started with a card for my first sample and an old technique of using your stamps in the background to create a little interest. For this I used my Sahara Sand ink for a tone-on-tone look and then layered together some brighter colors, a little water coloring a couple punches.

Next, I was in one of those "desperate for chocolate" moods so I capped off both ends of a not so pretty Hershey's candy bar with Early Espresso and then wrapped a wide band of DSP and a pretty belly band around the middle. The Tangerine Tango scallop edges are tucked under the DSP once I had it in place on the candybar and I finished it off with a happy jack-o'lantern, a button and some twine. I then proceeded to snap the picture and destroy the evidence. : ) Really...did you expect anything else?

Finally, I'm thinking a head a little to my Thanksgiving table and put together a little placecard holder. I'll duplicate these for each of my guests a little later when I know for sure who is coming. I figured my son Josh, who lives with us, was a safe bet!
For this, I folded a 9x3 inch panel of Early Espresso in half and  folder embossed the front with a woodgrain folder. The pumpkins are masked and stamped in Pumpkin Pie and layered with one edge scallop punched. The words are done in Ranger Walnut Stain and Old Olive. This piece was adhered directly to the front and then tied with twine and a button. The "J" is stamped with Old Olive, punched with a 5/8 inch circle punch and layered on a 7/8 inch scallop circle of Early Espresso. I popped it up on a dimensional to offset the button.

Thanks, as always, for dropping by today! I hope  you have a wonderful week! Enjoy those turning leaves while you still can!
