Good morning!
Wow! My weekend really flew by quickly; how about you?
A lot of it was consumed with working on our kitchen cabinets but I did manage to squeeze in some fun on Saturday with friends and my Bestie Twyla. We started our day off at the Bachman's Idea House - ALWAYS a lot of fun - and then I introduced her to the world of Ikea where I stumbled on a couple of solutions for my ever-changing kitchen. All in all, a great day! I promptly followed that up with an entire day of reorganizing my now semi-finished upper cabinets and unloading our lower cabinets in preparation for stripping those. Rich helped me to get them stripped later on in the afternoon so tonight all I have to do is buff and sand them so we can stain them. Thankfully for my aching shoulders and back, we'll be waiting on that til our new countertops come in. So, I get a little break from manual labor for a while. Yay!
So, on to the reason for your visit...
Today's card is a sympathy card. I used Circle Circus again but changed up the color scheme quite a bit, added some of that oh-so-versatile First Edition Specialty paper, some punches and die cuts for a very pretty, and very different looking card from the one I posted last week.
My card base is a half sheet of Rich Razzleberry. I trimmed the top and bottom edges of a panel of First Edition Specialty paper with a punched border of Always Artichoke. The punch is a new EK Success I just picked up recently called Braid.
I stamped one of the circles in Always Artichoke repeatedly across the DP then tied the organdy ribbon around the bottom edge before adhering the piece to the card.
The stack of circles was stamped with both Always Artichoke and Rich Razzleberry ink, punched and layered together with foam dimensionals. I sponged them a bit with So Saffron too and added a pearl to the center. Next, I used my Sizzix Branch with Leaves die to cut a couple leaf sprays, added them to the card front then adhered the layered circles over the top.
The sentiment is from Inky Antics and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry, punched with the Word Window punch then layered on a Modern Lable punch of Rich Razzleberry. This piece is up on foam dimensionals too.
Finally a trio of tiny pearls at the bottom finish things off.
Thanks for stopping in. Have a great day!
