I hope you've all had a fabulous week and you're looking forward to a lovely Easter weekend. We're having our son Dan and his girlfriend Mercedes over for dinner on Easter so I'm looking forward to that.
Of course, that also means Saturday will be a frenzy of food shopping, prep and cleaning but hey, that's all part of the fun right?
Today's card is one that I made early in February for one of the nurses at the hospital where my mother was being card for. Stephanie was truly wonderful with Mom and, well, all of us really. So I wanted to give her a special card to say thank you for all her tender care.
My card base is a 5-1/4 x 10-1/2 piece of Baja Breeze folded in half and layered with a 5 inch square of DP from My Minds Eye Quite Contrary Jack and Jill.
Next, I layered together a 3 inch square of DP with a 3-1/4 inch square of Bazzill Coral CS and then layered that on a 3-3/4 inch scalloped square of Neenah Solar White. The latter was die cut using Spellbinders Classic Scalloped squares and this whole piece was adhered to the card front with foam dimensionals.
Note - I wrapped a piece of white satin ribbon around the middle of the card front before adhering the center square in place.
The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set called Remembered Kindness. I stamped it on Neenah Solar White with Not Quite Navy and then used Spellbinders Ovals Large to die cut the piece. It too is popped up on dimensionals and is decked out with a couple of pink gems for a little bling.
Last, but not least, I punched out a bunch of flowers in 3 different sizes and colors (Bazzill coral, Pirouette Pink and Baja Breeze), layered them together with glue dots and added small pink gems to all the centers. I also die cut a couple of leaf sprays using Sizzlets Little Leaves and Certainly Celery cs. The leaves were tacked in place with glue dots and the flowers were scattered around the left edge of the square and the sentiment oval. A small satin bow finishes it all off.
