Good morning!
I have a quick post for you today. Something we did in my class last month. We made these as ornaments, but you could easily tie a little name tag to each one and use them for placeholders at your holiday table.
The boxes themselves are premade. I picked them up in a paper store back in the Fall with this project in mind. Each box is 2 inches square when assembled. We covered each of the 6 sides with a 1-7/8 inch square of Dasher DSP and then we wrapped a punched strip of Old Olive around the middle. The strip was punched with the dotted scallop border punch.
The top of each box is decorated with a scallop square of Real Red and a scallop circle of Old Olive. The santa image is from Deer Friends (now retired) and is stamped with Real Red on Neenah Baronial Ivory and punched with a 1-1/4 circle punch. We used a pale pink marker (Tombow) to color Santa's face and then added a little 2 way glue and glitter on his hat and beard. The stamped piece and the Old Olive scalloped circle were adhered together and a foam dimensional was used to pop it up on the red scalloped square.
Finally, we used a 1/16 inch punch to make two small holes along the fold of the lid flap for a piece of gold cord to hang them.
Thanks for dropping by today! Have a wonderful day!
