Tricks and Treats and Cider Sweets!

Good morning!
I hope you're all having a spectacular week.
Today I have a fun little project for Halloween. We did these last week in my card class at work and the ladies all seemed to like them. They're super easy to put together and make for a cute little gift for those extra special little tricksters. They're also perfect for hot chocolate packets or even dried soup mixes.

To begin, start with a 10 x 4 1/4 piece of cardstock. For mine we used Basic Black. Score it at 5 inches and fold in half. Note: the fold is the BOTTOM of your packet holder. Next, cut two panels of designer paper 4 x 4-3/4 and adhere to the front and back of your cardstock. We used two different prints from Doodlebug Designs Haunted Manor collection. This is the pocket that your cider (or hot chocolate if you choose to do these for Christmas) will get tucked into. Punch two slots; on on each top open edge of your packet holder about 1/2 inch in to thread the ribbon through.

Next, cut a piece of coordinating cardstock that is 2 13/16 x 9. Score at 4-3/8 and 8-1/4. this leaves you a 3/4 inch tab at one end. this piece is your belly band base. Wrap it around your packet holder and secure in place by adhering the small flap inside under the opposite long edge.

Now, cut a 2 x 9-1/2 inch piece of alternate designer paper and wrap around your belly band base in the same manner. Pinch slightly on the edges to make creases.
Punch a decorative strip of cardstock (we used black) and adhere it between the two creases on the back side of your designer paper. Now, you can wrap it around your packet again and secure in place.

Stamp a coordinating image (we used the kitty from Trick or Treat) and punch it out. I used a 1-1/2 inch circle punch and then layered it on a scallop circle punch of Pumpkin Pie. Adhere to the belly band, insert your cider packet into the holder, slide your belly band in place, and tie off with a couple pieces of ribbon.

Have fun with these, and enjoy the rest of your week!
