There's Something Sweet about a Rumpled Posy

Good morning and welcome to a new week!
My weekend was fairly uneventful but pretty much what I needed. It was nice to just relax at home, enjoy the weather and get a few things done around the house.

Today, I have the card that we made in my card class last Tuesday. This month, I taught the group how to distress paper flowers using an embossing stylus and a foam mat.

We started with a half sheet of More Mustard cardstock folded in half, a smaller panel of Soft Suede and a piece of natural cardstock.
The natural cardstock piece was stamped with the large swirl from Baroque Motifs in Certainly Celery and "thanks" from the CTMH Thank You set then layered on the Soft Suede. This piece was then adhered to the card followed by the ribbon which is wrapped around so the ends get covered by the flower.
The flower is a combination of a 2-3/4 inch scallop circle, the SU! Fancy Flower punch, and a 1-1/4 inch scallop circle punch. We also used a 7/8 inch circle punch for the Soft Suede flower center just under the brad.
All of the flower pieces were distressed on a foam mat using an embossing tool and then fluffed by hand a bit after they were all assembled. The two scalloped circles were clipped between the scallops before distressing so that they would rumple and fluff a little better. Once the flower was assembled with a jumbo brad in the center it was adhered to the card over the ribbon ends and a Wild Wasabi flourish cut with a Sizzix Flourish #10 die.
Finally, we added three mini punched flowers to the flourish stamped panel to wrap things up. They were each adhered with mini glue dots and given brown centers with a Soft Suede marker.

Thanks for visiting today!
