Patchwork Hearts

Good morning!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine was quiet, with Rich out of town for the weekend visiting with his siblings and parents, but busy because I tackled several projects including (with Josh's help) completely ripping out one of our backyard garden beds that I have decided needs to become something we can all enjoy, like say, a fire pit. I asked that this project be taken on by hubby and both boys for my birthday so I'm not sure why I ended up out there pulling out grapevine, weeds and heaven knows what else had taken root but we managed to get it all cleared out and ready for something new. I also cleaned house, ran several errands and found a little time to stamp a couple of cards for upcoming birthdays. All in all, it was a pretty productive couple of days!

Today, I have an anniversary card to share with you. The idea come from a card that I did at a class a while back using a butterfly punch. I duplicated that design for my card class in June but had a few parts and pieces left over so thought I would see what else I could do with what I had.

The card base is a half sheet of Old Olive. I selected three coordinating prints from the Everyday Enchantment DSP assortment and arranged them on the face of the card in the order that I wanted them. Next, I used a small rustic heart punch to punch a heart from each piece. Setting the hearts aside, I then adhered the punched pieces to the card front.
I punched a strip of Cherry Cobbler next with the scallop lace trim punch, adhered that along the top fold over the punched pieces and then tied a bit of Baja Breeze seam tape ribbon over the top.
Next, I arranged the three punched hearts with the opposite side of the paper showing and adhered each one with a small foam dimensional and finished them all off with a little bit of bling.
Finally, I stamped the Short and Sweet sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa on Neenah Baronial Ivory, punched it with the Word Window punch and layered it with dimensionals on a Modern Label punch of Cherry Cobbler.

Thanks for stopping by today!
