Amy's Inspiration

Good morning!

I hope you're all having a fabulous week! I celebrated another 40 something birthday yesterday which made for a fun day despite my fervent wish that they not roll around quite so quickly every year. Some wished don't come true no matter how many candles you blow out! Tonight we're going out to dinner with the kids to celebrate which means, (lucky me) my celebrating goes on for one more day!

Today, I have a card that was inspired by this one by Amy Sheffer over at Pickled Paper Designs. I even found some papers that were similar colors but, I did take a few liberties with the embellishments.

My card base is a 5-1/4 x 10-1/2 piece of Baja Breeze folded in half. I folder embossed a 5 inch square of some limey green paper I found over at Anchor paper a while back. It's a tad yellower than Kiwi Kiss but still works well with Old Olive and Baja Breeze the way Kiwi Kiss does.  I used Sizzix FLowers #6 embossing folder to add texture to the panel and then adhered it to the face of the card. Over that I layered three strips of decorator paper from an American Crafts collection called Take Note. I added tied buttons to the two horizontal strips and clipped the opposite end of each one too before adhering them in place. the vertical piece got a little American Crafts velvet rick-rack embellishment before it got put into place.
The layered circles came next, and were both die cut. The white circle was stamped with Delicate Doilies in Baja Breeze on Neenah Solar White then die cut with Spellbinders classic circles. The Old Olive scallop circle was cut with Quikutz Nesting Flowers. These two pieces were adhered together then mounted to the card on foam dimensionals.
The sentiment tag was stamped with Garden Green on white, hand trimmed then layered on a hand trimmed piece of Baja Breeze.
The butterflies were cut using a Sizzix die that I've had for a while. I apologize, I don't know the name of it.  I cut two; one of designer paper and another of the limey green cardstock. The latter was then embossed with the matching embossing folder. I adhered them together in the middle and added a few blue gems to the body after I adhered it in place on the raised circles. The tag sentiment is tucked in along side the butterfly to finish it off.

Enjoy your day!
