Oakleaf Birthday

Happy Monday!

In light of the absolutely grueling weekend I had (I spent it cleaning house, shampooing carpets, scrubbing bathrooms etc) I'm opting for a very simple masculine birthday card to start the new week off.

My card base is a half sheet of River Rock folded in half and stamped with the Aspen leaf from Autumn Fest in River Rock ink for a subtle background.
Next, I layered together two narrow strips of Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler cardstock and then ran them through my Big Shot using Tim Holtz's Woodgrain embossing folder.
The main focal image is a Chocolate Chip oak leaf stamped on Neenah Baronial Ivory and layered in Cherry Cobbler. To finish it off I tied a bit of thin twine around the bottom and used a few foam dimensionals to adhere the piece to the card.
Finally, the sentiment is stamped directly on the the card just above the embossed strips with Chocolate Chip.

FYI: This is another one of those cards that with a quick change of the sentiment could easily become a sympathy card.

Thanks for popping in! Have a fabulous day.
