Good morning!
I hope you had a great weekend. I spent a good chunk of mine stamping but yesterday, I took part in a bowling event to benefit the diabetes foundation. I have several family members and good friends who have diabetes so the cause is very near and dear to my heart. I add in a little extra good Karma by using my Mother's bowling ball and actually feel pretty good about my scores over all. In any case, it was a lot of fun!
Today, I have a baby card that I did for my niece and nephew who just had their 3rd child last week. I'm sending it out in the mail today but wanted to share it with you before then.
My card base is a scallop circle cut with the Grand Nestabilities Scallop circle dies from Bashful Blue. I cut two slightly smaller half scallop circles from Neenah Solar White and Bashful Blue DSP and layered them over the front and then added the ribbon to hide the seam between the two. Note, I used the Sizzix Dots folder to emboss the white piece before adhering it to the card.
The words "baby" and "boy" as well as the baby elephant, are stamped on Neenah Solar White with Memento Tuxedo Black. The words are hand trimmed and tied to the ribbon with baker's twine and the elephant is colored with Copics and die cut with Spellbinders Classic Circles. I layered the elephant on a scallop circle (Lifestyle Crafts) and then mounted it to the card with foam dimensionals.
Finally, a trio of blue buttons finishes it off.
