Twyla-t Paper Box

Good morning!
I'm home from a fabulous weekend of stamping, laughs and fun with a creative and energetic group of women and am happy to say I have lots of fun things to share with you.

Our theme this year for the retreat was "Scrap Camp" and we all embraced the whole idea of earning Girl-Scout-type badges for doing various things like eating our veggies, learning how to fold napkins (a lost art really...), icing cookies, learning how to dance "the electric slide" etc. (I DID say this was a fun and energetic group) This week, I'll be featuring a trio of projects we did over the weekend that answered the challenge to use a "strange embelli". It took me a couple of days, (and a glass of wine or two) of stamping before I finally landed on some ideas but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

The first of them is a little box that my pal Twyla did along with me.
The box itself is a simple quarter sheet nesting box that is topped with a diecut top and bottom. We used Bayou Blue and Soft Sky cardstock for the box and then added a strip of Twitterpated DSP and a slightly smaller diecut of the same paper to the lid. The fun begins with the little rose on the top. Remember, I was looking for clever ideas for strange embellishments. So...what better than...toilet paper?  *smiles* The rose on top is done using a folded strip of toilet paper coiled loosely to form the blossom and the leaves were punched with the 5 petal punch. We also added a little tag of white stamped with "merci" so it's all ready to fill with goodies and give away.  TP included!

Thanks for stopping in today!
See you Wednesday!
