Hello!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope your week is off to a good start. This morning I realized my soap dispenser in my bathroom is nearing empty. It's peppermint scented so it's also very seasonal and, if I really needed an excuse, I now have at least one thing on my Bath & Bodyworks shopping list. Anyway, that's what made me think this card would be a good one to share today. Rather a long-winded explanation of how my mind works early in the day, but there you have it.
The colors for this one are not in my usual comfort zone, and for whatever reason, I always have a hard time with the kraft paper. Not sure why exactly, but it seemed to work fine this time. Maybe it's the red.
Anyway, the card base is a half sheet of Real Red. I cut a Neenah Baronial Ivory panel to fit 1/4 inch smaller and then used this piece to cut my snowflakes making sure I left at least a 3/8 inch border around the edge. Once the snowflakes were cut, I set it aside temporarily. Next I cut a 3-3/4 x 5 panel of Kraft cardstock and embossed it with my Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder. I layered this piece on the panel of Ivory that I cut the snowflakes out of and then added the strip of striped designer paper (Dashing) and the ribbon. Finally, this piece was ready to adhere to the card! My snowflakes were sponged while they were still in the Spellbinders dies with Real Red. They're adhered to the card with either a glue dot or a dimensional or both. Finally, the sentiment was done on my computer (I did a bunch of cards that way) and layered on Real Red. Pretty snappy huh? And, can you smell that??? I think it's peppermint...
