Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. We had a lovely day here. Dan, our oldest son, came over for dinner and Josh is home from college for the weekend. Dinner turned out perfectly which was truly a blessing given all of the cooking mishaps I've had this week. I've packed leftovers for both kids so Rich and I don't spend the week eating all that wonderful stuff we're not supposed to have on our diets! We spent part of the afternoon watching Toy Story 3 which, of course, made me cry again but it's such a sweet movie. Now I just need to make sure Josh doesn't squirrel it away in his bag when he goes back to school. He did that with all of our Harry Potter DVDs the little rat. Speaking of which, we're going to go see the latest installment of HP tomorrow at the IMAX. I am SOOOO psyched for that! I just know it's going to be awesome and I'm thankful we can all go see it together just like all of the previous ones. I'm really enjoying all of these little blessings...
Today's card is one I made for my stash at work. I took my color cues from the Fall Flowers DSP and used Dusty Durango and Soft Sky for my two main colors. The flowers are from Printed Petals and are stamped with Dusty Durango, Soft Sky and Soft Suede on Neenah Solar White. I stamped the sentiment (Short & Sweet) with Soft Suede as well and used glue dots on the ends with a little hand shaping in the middle to make it curve up a bit. The leaves (Garden Green) are punched with a Martha Stewart little leaf punch. Assembly on this is pretty straight forward. All of the designer paper layers are from the same Fall Flowers assortment. The scallop squares are created with Spellbinders Scallop Squares dies and the scallop edge on the bottom of the striped strip is done with my Fiskars Threading Water punch. I just covered the holes when I adhered the designer paper to the punched Dusty Durango strip. Finally, to finish things off I added some brown ribbon and a few half pearls to the flower centers.
Thanks for stopping by!
