Saffron & Gray Sympathy

Good morning! It's a bright, sunny, crisp 38 degree day here today. I'm not sure, but I think we had our first actual hard frost last night, and I forgot to cover my flowers. { : ( }Kind of a bummer since they really were gorgeous this year.  It is October though, so I guess I can't really expect them to last much longer anyway and, for once, I was smart and saved all those little plant tags that tell me what I planted so, come May when I'm ready to plant some color again, I know just what I'm going to do! Unless, Lynn, my own personal green-thumb plant expert shows me something equally fabulous! I tell you, it pays to have a friend who knows flowers!

Today I have a sympathy card to share. I made this card a while back when I was trying to play catchup for my card box at work. I saw something similar on Splitcoast and I apologize sincerely for not taking better notes on who did it. If that clever person just happens to wander my way, shoot me an email and I'll make sure you get credit! What captured my attention on that card was the combination of So Saffron and Basic Gray. I stamped the leaves and flowers from Best Blossoms on the top half of a 5-1/4 x 4 piece of Neenah Baronial Ivory then added a piece of the gray patterned paper from the Walk in the Park DSP collection to the bottom. Note, I wrapped the saffron twill ribbon around the DSP before I adhered it to the card. The flowers are punched using the Birds and Blooms flower dies but I also ran them through the Cuttlebug Tapestry Texture and Swiss Dots embossing folder and sponged the edges with So Saffron ink. The card itself is a half sheet of charcoal/ivory cardstock and the sentiment is layered on Basic Gray.
Have a great day!
