Pretty Petals Birthday

Hi there! I'm back!
My apologies for the lack of posts - we went up to Duluth this weekend to visit Josh and I deliberately left my laptop at home. It was Parent-Family Weekend at UMD and we had a great time just bumming around town and spending time with Josh. Of course, now I can't wait til Thanksgiving when we'll get to see him again! Lol!

So, on to the card.  Our weather this week seems to be turning more and more toward winter, or at the very least, the drippy season. I suppose it has to happen sometime but to hold off the soggy Fall blues, today I have a fresh and cheery birthday card to share. The set is Polka Dots & Paisley  and has been retired for a while now but I just picked it up at a garage sale. On top of that, SU! had the matching Petals & Paisley designer paper on clearance so I snapped a few packs of that up. This falls under that familiar category of "Not sure why I didn't buy it when it was in the catalog", but I'm happy to have it now. Funny how often that happens!
Anyway, the card base is a half sheet (4.25 x 11) of Pretty in Pink. I used Pretty in Pink ink and one of the flowers from the set to create a tone on tone background and then layered a couple of pieces of the designer paper and a stamped polka dot panel with coordinating cardstock and arranged them on the front with  a little punched daisy strip to cover the edges, The ribbon was tied next and finally, the pink daisy  and sentiment are inked with markers, stamped on Neenah Solar White and layered over the top.
I added one little adhesive gem to give it a little bling.
