Happy Day! I hope your day is off to a fabulous start! This week is kinda crazy for us because tomorrow is Joshua's 18th birthday. OMG!!!!! Okay, the mom in me is crying a little at that but, in all honesty, he's such a great kid I'm excited for him too. We'll be doing the usual family dinner tomorrow night most likely, where I'll get to see my other son again too. He lives on the south end of town from us, about 35 minutes away, but sometimes it feels like he lives much farther. This stinks of course.
Anyway, I thought a birthday card might be in order for today, so it was exceptionally good timing for me to reach the kid's birthday card in the Stamp A Stack event pile. I'll share the card I made for Josh later this week. I used up some background paper to create a snappy background on a basic white card and then went from there. There's also a punched strip of Old Olive running across the middle but it's a little hard to see. The background paper included an assortment of fun colors to work from so I pulled out the olive (Old Olive), red (Ruby Red) and brown (Soft Suede). The H and B are stamped with Soft Suede on white and then layered on Ruby Red. I punched two slots with the slot punch on the right edge and threaded the ribbon through. The ribbon ends are just glued together so they lay flat and the little package is stamped, hand trimmed and mounted on a dimensional last. The finished card is layered on Ruby Red.
Thanks for stopping by!
