Hi! I hope you're having a good week! I've been working on a catalog for one of our vendors all week - not exactly my idea of creative fun - but there you have it. Needless to say, I'll be happy to see it off to the printer at last. This weekend we are touring a nearby college with our son Josh. I, for one, am not looking forward to having him move out but I guess it has to happen sometime. It just hits me sometimes how quickly my kids have grown, and here I am looking at an empty nest. Honestly, I still remember chasing the little devils around the living room trying to get them to pick up their Legos!
Okay- enough of the wimpering. On to the fun stuff.
I am sure, by now, you're getting weary of the Valentines, but I hope you'll agree that this one is pretty cute. It sort of evolved on its own and incorporates a couple of different stamp sets (Love you Much and Loving Hearts) but I was thrilled at how well they played together! I also discovered that I seem to have an abundance of heart sets in my possession. Hmmmm. How did that happen?
The card itself is Melon Mambo folded and layered with a strip of Candy Lane DSP. Over that I layered a punched piece of Chocolate Chip - the punch is Martha Stewards Flower Bed punch - and a narrow band of Whisper White that I stamped with the little string of hearts and sponged with Pink Passion. Sorry, I still have some of the older SU! colors so you could sub in Pixie Pink if you're so inclined. I colored the quilted squares with markers, stamped them on Whisper White and layered the piece on Chocolate Chip. Next I stamped the heart trio twice in Chocolate Chip and Melon Mambo, sponged or watercolored them a bit and punched them out before layering them sort of willy-nilly on the card with glue dots or dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped and punched with the Word Window punch. I finished the whole thing off with a few little gemstones.
Catch ya later!
