Good morning! As promised, here's the square easel card that I said I had ready. If you missed my last post, here's the link to the tutorial on Splitcoast that Beate Johns put together. Really there isn't anything overly difficult about making a square easel card vs. a rectangular one. You just adjust your measurements and scoring a bit.
This card is a valentine (of course) but it would be equally suited to a wedding or anniversary.
The card base is Petalsoft (Bazzill Basics) and I layered the back piece on Soft Suede for a little contrast. The soft pink and warm brown are really pretty together don't you think? Anyway, the card front is layered with a couple of pieces of designer paper from K & Co McKenna plus a couple more pieces of Petalsoft and Soft Suede. I used my Pinking Hearts border punch again plus some pretty brown ribbon and an antique copper buckle from a Hodgepodge Hardware set. The large heart is stamped with the flourish from Baroque Motifs in Soft Suede (I stamped it off a couple of times to lighten the color) and then I cut it out with my Spellbinders Classic heart die. The scalloped heart is also a Spellbinders die (Classic Scalloped Heart) cut from the same Petalsoft cardstock. I sponged the edges of the scalloped heart with Positively Pink to brighten it up a little and then stamped the two smaller hearts in the same color. A little hand trimming, a couple of dimemsionals, and tada! The sentiment is stamped with Soft Suede and sponged with the pink as well.
For the inside I layered together a strip of designer paper and a piece of Soft Suede. Over that, I added a strip of Petalsoft that I ran through my Divine Swirls embossing folder for a little texture.
