Hello! Well Winter seems to have made an appearance finally and we've been "enjoying" much cooler temperatures the past few days. Yesterday I finally started to feel like decorating for Christmas so we went out and bought our tree, set it up, gave it about a gallon of water and let it relax overnight. This morning I tackled putting the lights on (a 2-3 hour project) and then I let the Rich and Josh put all the decorations on. We finished the whole thing around 1:00. Whew! With that said, I have another Christmas tree pop up card to share with you. I found this wonderful stamp set called Reindeer Swirls (Stampendous) on a recent trip to Archivers and was anxious to try it out. I started with a 5 x 10 piece of Mellow Moss folded in half and layered on a 5-1/4 square of Chocolate Chip. On the face of the card, I layered a couple of pieces of Holiday Treasures DSP. Next I layered a strip of Mellow Moss with a piece of chocolate satin ribbon that I hand ruched. The reindeer is stamped on Whisper White with Chocolate Chip and Ruby Red then die cut with the Spellbinders Labels 4. I sponged the edges with Mellow Moss, squiggled a little glue around the edge and added glitter. Finally, I layered it on a piece of Chocolate Chip that I trimmed by hand. I REALLY wish Spellbinders would come out with all those in-between sizes for this label set. I have a hard time working with the 1/4 inch increments.
Anyway, to finish things up, I punched several flowers using the Boho Blossoms punch and a combination of Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke cardstock. The snowflakes (Fiskars Tis the Season) are stamped in Always Artichoke on Whisper White and then punched with the Boho Blossoms punch as well. I rounded them out with a little green gemstone for a little bling.
The inside isn't all that spectacular other than the pop up tree. I used my Quickutz Nested Flowers die to cut the tree skirt and added a few more snowflakes along the bottom edge so it wasn't so plain. The verse is from Craft Lounge -Merry Wishes. That's it! Thanks for looking!
