Thanksgiving Pumpkin CASE

Hello!
Fall is definitely here in Minnesota! We finally have more leaves on the ground than on the trees and there's a definite snap to the air every morning. Now, if we could just enjoy this season a bit before the white stuff starts flying! Keep your fingers crossed!

Today's card is a CASE for this one by Barbara over at Paper Pursuits. She's got some great cards to share so be sure to check out her blog!
A friend of mine saw the card on Splitcoast and sent it to me, so of course I had to see what I could do with it. I changed the colors up quite a bit and moved my punched leaves and buttons to the top instead of the bottom, but otherwise it's essentially the same layout- other than it being a square card of course!

You'll notice there are LOTS of layers on this one! The card is 5-1/4 finished. I started with a burgundy square cut at 5-1/4 inches. On that I layered a 5 x 10 folded piece of Old Olive. Next is a 4-3/4 square of So Saffron that I stitched a 4-1/2 square of Junior Varsity DSP. I set these last two aside until I had the next two layers together because the ribbon comes in between. So, the next two pieces are a 3 inch square of Old Olive and a 2-3/4 inch square of designer paper stitched together. With those two in place on the card, the ribbon is situated across the middle with the ends secured on the back side of the Saffron square. Next comes the stamped pumpkin piece (Cranberry Crisp stamped on Very Vanilla and colored with blender pens and Old Olive and Tangerine Tango ink.) I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip then stitched the piece to a slightly larger piece of So Saffron before layering it again on Old Olive and using some relatively flat dimensionals to adhere it to the card. The tag is stamped with Cranberry Crisp on Very Vanilla, hand trimmed and layered on Old Olive . The leaves are punched with an assortment of Marvy and EK Success leaf punches from burgandy, Old Olive and So Saffron and topped with a couple of buttons that I tied together with a bit of organdy polka dot ribbon. Whew!
