Hi! Today's post is a bit of a segue from my usual style. I wasn't all that sure I even liked this card when I was putting it together, and unfortunately the photo doesn't really do it justice, but I think I do like it. You see, I had this new embossing folder I wanted to try out because it was so similar to the Pocket Silhouettes set. In fact, that's precisely why I bought it! I think I need to add a little spacer in when I run it through the Cuttlebug though because it doesn't impress the paper as much as I'd hoped.
The card is a 5-1/4 x 10-1/2 piece of Elegant Eggplant folded in half. Layered on top of that is a 5 inch square of Sahara Sand that I ran through the Cuttlebug with my new Plants embossing folder from Quickutz. I lightly went over the raised image with a sponge and a little Elegant Eggplant and Sahara Sand ink so the image would show better and then layered a narrow strip of Sahara Sand DSP along the right edge. I added a thin strip of Elegant Eggplant just under the ribbon because it's not an exact match to the paper and seemed to fall flat lying against the Sahara. Next I stamped the weeds (what are those things anyway?) from Pocket Silhouettes in both the Sahara Sand and Elegant Eggplant ink on Sahara Sand, and the sentiment, and layered both on Elegant Eggplant. Finally I punched three circles each of Sahara Sand (1/2 inch) and Elegant Eggplant (5/8 inch), layered them together and added a brad to each before adhering them to the card. I smudged everything with my sponge so it all has that slightly aged look.
Thanks for visiting! Hope to see you back soon!
