Hello! Today is the first day of school here in Minnesota, and our youngest is off this morning to his first day of his Senior year of high school. It will take him the better part of the week to re-adjust to the early-riser schedule but at least he has a positive attitude about it!
Today's card is actually the card I made for my August monthly card but I sort of forgot about it until today. Since it's still a little bit summery I thought it would be a good choice for today's post.
I started with a 8 x 5-1/4 inch piece of Whisper White and folded that in half. I wheeled the Scatter Sunshine flowers in Real Red over the top and stamped a little row of single flowers from Simply Said across the bottom and then layered a little green plaid designer paper (ProvoCraft) and a strip of Sassy (retired) dsp over that to fill in the middle section of the card face. The flowers from Simply Said are stamped on a piece of Whisper White with Basic Gray and then colored with a Real Red marker. The centers are all filled in with tiny adhesive gems for a little bling. The sentiment is from Heidi Grace and is also stamped with Basic Gray. Both of these two pieces are layered on Real Red as the card itself. I punched the sentiment out with a 7/8 inch square punch and layered it on a 1 inch square; also punched and then mounted the layered sentiment up on a dimensional to help it show up a little better. The centers of the flowers along the bottom are filled in with a glossy black gel pen (Jelly Roll) and for a final bit of fun, I stamped the little dotted trio of flower from Three For You with Real Red and punched it out with the Flower Trio punch. It’s layered on a Real Red punched flower and there’s one more tiny adhesive gem in the center.
