Get Well Tea

Hello!
Well, as Mondays go, today wasn't half bad. I cleared a few barnacles off my desk, got a few new things started, and (oh the joy) brought home a little work to tide me over time-wise tomorrow when I am out of the office working a customer event. Now that I am home, however, I am hard pressed to dive into it as it's a beautiful sunny day and my deck is so very appealing. I may just sit here and bask a bit...

This weekend, I spent a good part of Sunday stamping up sympathy and get well cards for my box at work. I am completely out of both so needed to restock a bit. This is one of the get well variety and I used a cute little teapot set from Basic Grey that I found at Archivers last week. I followed Splitcoast Sketch #88 for the layout with one small modification (I added one more layer under the teapot for contrast) and I am not sure if the ribbon is in violation or not, but the card was a flat without it so, there you have it.
The card base is a half sheet of charcoal linen cs that's actually ivory on the inside which is nice. I used Lots of Spots to sort of mimic the grey patterned dsp (Walk in the Park) and layered that piece on a it of So Saffron. the next layer is also from Walk in the Park. The teapot is stamped with Basic Gray on Whisper White and colored with the So Saffron marker. I coated the whole thing liberally with Crystal Effects to gloss it up a bit and add a little 3D touch. The teapot is layered on So Saffron and then again on the charcoal. Before I adhered the layered teapot piece, I tied the Saffron ribbon and then mounted the teapot on dimensionals. a few pearls in the corners finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with the card I made for my best friend Twyla's birthday.
