Sunday Stash Challenge 17 - Sunny Sunflowers

Hello! Here it is Sunday already and a holiday weekend to boot. I hope you've all had a wonderful 4th of July holiday! We rolled into the driveway from our weekend up with Rich's family around 3:30 today and I immediately hit my stamp room to get this challenge ready. Once I've finished here I'm going to relax and enjoy the last little bit of the holiday weekend out on my deck. I'll probably keep to the shade however as I did manage to catch a bit more sun yesterday than I intended. Why does that first sunburn of the year always sneak up on you?

This week I have some cheery sunflowers for our inspiration. Thanks to Twyla who went exploring for me last week to find a good photo. In addition to using up some paper scraps that I had in my drawer, I also got to try out the new Cricut and the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist I bought. WAAAAY COOL!!! Yes I know this is supposed to be a stash challenge, but everything else used on this card was from my stash. Amazingly enough the sun cooperated with me when I was taking the photo of my sample so you can actually see the Glimmer Mist! Whoohoo!!

Here's my sample. I pulled out those lovely 70s colors - Tupperware would be proud - Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss and So Saffron. I used Old Olive for the leaves and stems and a combination of So Saffron, More Mustard and Chocolate Chip for the flowers. The embossed backgrounds are done with a couple of Cuttlebug folders and the "hello" letters are done with the Cricut and my Xyron sticker maker. Another super cool tool - especially for little stuff like the letters. It saved me a bunch of time. Here's the whole recipe:

Stamps: DD Summer Sunflower (retired) Paper: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron, Whisper White Ink: Old Olive, So Saffron, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip marker Accessories: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Key Lime Pie and Yellow Daisy, ribbon (Offray), Cuttlebug folders: Stylized Flowers and Spots & Dots, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Cricut (Don Juan cartridge),

How do I play along?: Just upload a project using this week's photo as inspiration to your online blog or gallery. Then leave a link to your project in the Mr. Linky form at the bottom of this post. If you're linking to a blog, please be sure to link directly to the specific post where we can view your project, and not just to your blog. That way everyone who wants to look can get straight to your card. If you upload to online galleries, please also use tag/keyword SUSC17.
Deadline:The Mr. Linky form will close at 8PM CT on Sunday, July 12th, so all entries need to be in before then.

The Mr. Linky dialog box is now closed for this week's challenge. If you would still like to play along, just include the URL link to your post in a comment. Thanks for playing!
