Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! So far today I have a bouquet of bright yellow daisies, a box of Dove chocolates (I am drooling over those and trying to remember I should eat breakfast first...)and a cute card from my hubby. Something about how I have all his love and devotion, and all the covers on the bed. Harumph. Where does he get these ideas?!?!? lol!
Anyway, as I am sure my boys will both have something equally sweet for me a little later, I hope that all of you are getting the same wonderful treatment on your special day!
I am posting something I made a few weeks ago now- wow, time flies doesn't it? It's a Mother's Day card even though there's no sentiment on the front indicating that. Ordinarily this would bother me but I think I have enough going on without it with the Cuttlebug background, layers, pearls and ribbon.
Assembly is really pretty simple; I really did put this card together on the fly. The layers and little details make it seem more involved than it really is. My pal Lynn, who was there when I made it, thinks I was showing off by whipping it up so quickly, but really if you look at it... well, you get the idea. With all that said, I'm not going to go into a lot of detail on how I did all the layers other than to say the largest Very Vanilla panel was passed through the Cuttlebug-Tapestry Texture embossing folder twice so I could get the whole thing embossed. The stamped panel hides where the folder overlapped the first pass and squished it a little. Also, the corners are inverse rounded using a 5/8 in. circle punch and a 1 in. circle punch.
Stamps: Blossoms Abound Paper: Vintage Violet, Old Olive, Very Vanilla Ink: Old Olive, Vintage Violet Accessories: ribbon, pearls (Crystal Stickers), 5/8 and 1 inch circle punches, dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Swing by later for this week's Sunday Stash Challenge #10! I've got a bit of art from a Master to share with you for inspiration!
