Sunday Stash Challenge #7

Good afternoon and welcome back! If you're here for the new Sunday Stash Challenge for this week, you're in luck! If you're checking back from Saturday when I promised to post again that evening, well... my evening sort of disappeared and I didn't get back as planned. Sorry!

Here's this week's challenge photo. How cool is that to see three different butterflies on one flower? Wow huh? I'm posting the new challenge a little earlier in the evening again this week because we're going out to dinner and I didn't want to make you wait 'til we got back to see what it is. If you're really in a stampin' mood there's still time to post for last week's challenge. I'll be closing the Mr. Linky box on that one later tonight.

Here's my card.

Lots of layers on this one. When finished, the card is 6 inches square. The card is Chocolate Chip layered on So Saffron and Tangerine Tango. Note: I cut the center out of the So Saffron layer and used that under my Upsy Daisy stamped layer which is then layered on a piece of Groovy Guava. The daisies are stamped twice on Whisper White. Once in Groovy Guava and once with Tangerine Tango. To soften it a bit, I sponged So Saffron over the face of the stamped daisies and Tangerine Tango around the edges. Next I stamped the Pocket Silhouettes flowers using Chocolate Chip on a 1-1/4 inch x 5 inch strip of Groovy Guava and adhered it to the top of the card. I ran a 2-1/2 inch x 5 inch strip of Tangerine Tango through the Tapestry Textures embossing folder (Cuttlebug) and a smaller 1-1/4 inch x 3 inch piece of So Saffron through the Swiss Dotted folder. I punched one long edge of the Tangerine Tango with the Lacy Days of Summer (Fiskars) edge punch and repeated that with a strip of Whisper White. These two were adhered to the bottom of the card. Because the White was a bit stark against the Tangerine, I added a strip of Chocolate Chip over the top edge of the white and also to the bottom edge of the Groovy Guava strip that I had already adhered to the top of the card. The Upsy Daisy layered piece was adhered toward the left edge of the card next with the So Saffron piece next to it. The circles are punched and layered and trimmed with a gold brad and then arranged on the Saffron piece. Finally, I stamped a Chocolate Chip and a Tangerine Tango butterfly from Just Like You, cut them out and gave them both a glitter coating. They're mounted to the card with glue dots so I could pop the wings up a little bit. The final touch was a triple wrap of gold cord around the Chocolate Chip strip at the bottom of the card.

How do I play along?: Just upload a project using this week's photo as inspiration to your online blog or gallery. Then leave a link to your project in the Mr. Linky form at the bottom of this post. If you're linking to a blog, please be sure to link directly to the specific post where we can view your project, and not just to your blog. That way everyone who wants to look can get straight to your card. If you upload to online galleries, please also use tag/keyword SUSC07.
Deadline: The Mr. Linky form will close at 8PM CT on Sunday, April 26th, so all entries need to be in before then.

The Mr. Linky dialog is now closed. If you are submitting an entry after the closing date, please leave a link to your post in a comment. Thanks for playing along!
