There's a story behind this card. Someone (ahem) came up with the bright idea of requesting orange and blue for the March Hostess Club card swap. Believe me, I (oops, SHE) received more than one "look" at the suggestion but since it's always a good idea to humor the crazy people...well, you get the idea. Yes, it's an odd combination. Yes, it's really bright. In fact, it kinda screams KID PARTY doesn't it? It's also supposed to be a highly compatible color combination according to the color wheel so why not give it a try! Can't wait to see what everyone else does!
Here are the details:
- Cut your cardstock and designer papers as follows:
Only Orange CS : 3-1/2 x 12 scored at 7 inches, Brilliant Blue CS: 7-1/4 x 3-3/4, Whisper White CS: 3-1/4 x 6-3/4. Designer Paper - 1 each: 3-1/4 x 2, 4 x 3-1/4 & 1-3/4 x 2-1/4
Stamp package with Bashful Blue and "h" and "b" with Only Orange on Whisper White and cut out.
Stamp circles (Only Orange), cupcakes (Brilliant Blue and Bashful Blue) and "happy birthday"(Brilliant Blue) on right edge of Whisper White piece.
Using a 5/8 inch circle punch, punch the corners of one end of the Whisper White piece then attach to the inside of the card. Punch holes for brads in outer corners of card as shown. Insert brads then adhere card to Brilliant Blue layer. Attach the two smallest designer paper pieces to the card front. Score and fold the largest designer paper piece along one long edge at 3/4 inch then adhere the flap down. Affix this piece to the front of the card over the previous two pieces. Paper pierce along two opposing corners as shown. Tie ribbon around the front of the card. Finally, arrange the "h", "b" and gift package and adhere to card front with dimensionals. Add a couple adhesive gems on each of the letters for a little "BLING" and you're done! Here's a closeup of the details.
