But enough of the ranting...This past weekend, in my stamping frenzy I was playing around with a bunch of new flowery sets- trying to invoke a little Spring where I could - and this is one of the cards I put together. I had these snappy scalloped circles from Archivers in Papaya that I bought a while back and thought I should probably do something with. The color looks great with Baja Breeze and together they coordinated with the new K & Company Classic K Bailey DSP that I picked up. The sketch is one I have been meaning to use for a while now- just waiting for my Garden Greetings stamps to arrive I guess! Ha! I made two of these cards at once because the scallop circle is cut into quarters to make the corners.
The card is a standard A2 from Baja Breeze. On that I layered a 2 inch wide strip of floral DSP and a 1 inch strip of a muted stripe/pattern DSP. Both are from K & Company. Next I divided one scallop circle into quarters and stamped the pieces with Ruby Red flowers. After adhering two of the quarters to opposing corners of the card, I tied the ribbon (Martha Stewart) around the middle and clipped the ends at an angle. The middle flowers are stamped with Ruby Red and Baja Breeze, cut, layered and punched in the center so I could insert a brad (American Crafts). I used a dimensional to raise the layered flower up a bit. The final touch was to add the white doodles. I used a White Jelly Roll pen to add dots to the flowers on the Papaya corner scallops and along the edges of the designer paper. Makes you want to do a little Spring Tango doesn't it?
