Little Love Bird

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I thought this card was rather timely. The colors are entirely non-traditional for Valentine's Day, but the overall sentiment is right. I actually made this for a wedding or anniversary card, but don't you think it would be cute in pinks and reds? I may have to give that a try later. For now, I'm going to be happy I'm getting a new post out! So, here are the details for the card.

Stamps: Short & Sweet, Spring Solitude

Ink: Baja Breeze, Basic Gray

Paper: Baja Breeze, Basic Black, Whisper White, Urban Garden DP

Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware-Pewter, Ribbon (Martha Stewart), Cuttlebug-Bird & Vine
Assembly is fairly self explanatory but here are the measurements for the paper pieces.

Baja Breeze: cut 1 pc 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 and another 3 3/8 x 2 3/4
Black: cut 1 piece 5 1/4 x 4, and 1 pc 1/2 in x 3 1/2.
White: cut 1 piece 7 3/4 x 5 5/8 Fold in half and cuttlebug emboss the front. You'll also need a small scrap piece sized to fit the metal frame you choose.
Urban Garden DP: 3 1/8 x 2 5/8

  1. Start by folding the white card piece in half then run it through your Cuttlebug folder. Adhere to the black piece then layer again on the larger of the Baja Breeze piece.
  2. Adhere the Urban Garden DP to the smaller Baja Breeze piece aligning the right edges. The Baja Breeze border should only be on 3 sides. (refer to photo) Next, adhere the black strip to the left edge wrapping the ends around to the back side.
  3. Tie a bow onto a circular metal clip and then clip it to the left edge of the Urban Garden/Baja Breeze piece.
  4. Stamp bird and "love" on small piece of Whisper White. Trim to fit the metal frame you choose. Next, adhere to the Urban Garden piece then mark and punch holes for brads. Insert brads. Adhere entire piece to face of card, and you're done!

Try it in pinks and send me a photo!
